Last Minute Reminders!

Hello Everyone!

HSINMUN VIII is in two days! We at IBSH all look forward to seeing everyone very soon.

There are a couple reminders:

For all: Please arrive BEFORE 8:50AM. Opening ceremony will start at 8:50am so we would like to encourage everyone to arrive at least ten minutes before we start.
The first day will end at 5:00pm, and the second day at 4:40pm.

Delegates:

  • Please bring a hard copy (printed) AND a soft copy (USB) of your resolutions to the conference! This will make lobbying go much more efficiently if you have various copies of your resolution to share with others.
  • NO food and/or drinks are allowed in the conference rooms.
  • Committee Hopping is strictly forbidden. Any delegates caught will automatically be excused from the conference and directly sent back to their schools.
  • Remember to always give your lanyards (badges) to your chairs WHENEVER you leave the room, whether it be for bathroom breaks or other emergencies.
  • I encourage everyone to bring a laptop on the FIRST DAY for lobbying (especially for those intending to main submit)
  • Prepare opening speeches! They will be entertained the first thing on Saturday.
Observers:
  • Please bring pencils and pens to take notes!

This should be all. All lanyards(badges) will be waiting for you IN the committee rooms, so they WILL NOT be passed out during opening ceremony.

Thank you and we all look forward to working together to make HSINMUN VIII a success!

Sincerely,
The IBSH MUN Team

Security Council Resolution Deadline - Extended

Dear all participants of the HSINMUN Security Council,

Recently, it has come to light that the change of issues (from the issue in Libya to Nuclear Security in South Asia), which happened last spring, was not communicated clearly to all MUN advisors, which has brought confusion and misunderstanding among advisors.

As a result, we have decided to extend the deadline for all Security Council Draft Resolutions to next Tuesday, October 2nd.

Those working on the issue of Nuclear Security in South Asia should email their resolutions to Jim Hsiao at hsiaooutside@gmail.com, while those regarding the future of Iran and the question of future sanctions to Kathy Chow at chow.kathy@gmail.com

Feel free to email us any further questions with our contact information on the bottom of the page.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you all in two weeks.

Draft-Resolution Deadline (Updated)

Hello everyone!

It has been decided that the deadline for draft resolutions will be moved to next SATURDAY, September 29th, due to the fact that we STILL have not received all emails of delegates who will be attending the conference next month. We apologize for the delay, but we will try to send out committee emails by this coming Thursday, along with an attachment of research reports, introductions from the chairs as well as contact information.

Please start on your research if you haven't already! We have uploaded tons of information regarding how to start researching, writing draft resolutions, and much more onto this website. Feel free to look around.

Thanks again for your patience,

IBSH MUN Team

Research Reports and Draft Resolution Deadline

Hello everyone!

The research reports for all committee issues for HSINMUN VIII are officially out! Please check the following tab on the top of the page called "Research Reports". There, you can find the links to google documents containing all of our reports, which is open to view for everyone who has the link (which have been hyper-linked to each Chair's name).

Additionally, we would like to announce that the DEADLINE for ALL DELEGATES' DRAFT RESOLUTIONS will be on September 26th, Wednesday midnight. We would like to advise all delegates to get started on their research! The rosters from each schools will arrive on Friday, so the committee chairs will send out committee emails with introductions and emails later this week. However, it would be most wise to check out our research reports and get started EARLY in researching.

If there are any further questions, feel free to contact us. Our contact information is in the bottom of this website.

Thank you!
